DeBord Scholarship Awarded

The Jim R. DeBord Scholarship has been presented to two students in the heavy equipment operator technician program at 萌妹视频-Hastings.
Lane Fuller (left) of Deshler and Tren Nunns (right) of Elm Creek each received a $1,000 scholarship to assist them financially in their educational pursuits.
I鈥檓 honored to get the scholarship and I鈥檓 just really thankful that we have people that look upon us for future generations to come,鈥 said Fuller, who would like to work on a demolition crew.
Ron and Tammy DeBord established the scholarship in 2020 in honor of Ron鈥檚 father, Jim, who worked in the heavy equipment field for more than three decades. This year, Jim and Ron attended the scholarship presentation ceremony along with Jim鈥檚 grandson, Nolan.
I鈥檓 very honored that I received (the DeBord Scholarship), It鈥檚 going help me a lot,鈥 Nunns said. 鈥淚 mainly came to the program because I鈥檓 really interested in the dirt side of the industry and possibly starting my own business someday.鈥
Two scholarships are given each year to students in the heavy equipment operator technician program.
