รศรรสำฦตโ€™s McDowall Receives AACC Honor

รศรรสำฦต President Dr. Matt Gotschall and Dr. Susan McDowallรศรรสำฦต English instructor Dr. Susan McDowall recently received the 2019 Dale P. Parnell Distinguished Faculty designation.

The American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) in recognition of individuals making a difference in the classroom presents the award. Recipients must demonstrate passion for the students and the classroom; show willingness to support students, inside and outside of the classroom; be inclined to participate in college committees; and go above and beyond what is required to ensure that students are successful in their academic endeavors.

โ€œIt is a great honor to be recognized,โ€ said McDowall (pictured with รศรรสำฦต President Dr. Matt Gotschall). โ€œThis award really means a lot to me. I learn so much from my students and colleagues every day. รศรรสำฦต has strong, innovative faculty and I am one of many.โ€

McDowall has been with รศรรสำฦต since 2005 and is the only faculty member to have been named as a Fulbright Scholar. She spent the 2015-16 academic year as a lecturer at the Russian State Agrarian University in Moscow. McDowall is a sponsor for the FOCUS multicultural group and a past participant in the รศรรสำฦต Leading with Excellence course.

McDowall was presented with a medallion at the AACCโ€™s annual convention in Orlando, Fla., in April.
